My Code of Ethics

Because the coaching and breathwork fields are self-regulating, I believe it's my responsibility — not just a formality — to be fully transparent about how I work, what I stand for, and what you can always expect from me.

This isn't a legal document. It's a promise. These are the standards I hold myself to in every session, every conversation, and every offer I put into the world — because you deserve to know exactly what kind of practitioner you're working with before you say yes.

I Work Within My Scope of Practice

I am a coach and breathwork facilitator — not a therapist, counselor, psychologist, or medical professional. This distinction matters, and I take it seriously.

Coaching and breathwork are powerful tools for growth, self-awareness, and transformation. They are not substitutes for clinical mental health treatment, medical care, or crisis support. I will always be honest with you about what I can and cannot offer, and I will never overreach into territory that belongs to a licensed professional.

If something comes up in our work together that falls outside my scope, I will say so clearly and compassionately — without judgment, and without hesitation.

I Will Refer You Onward When It's Right

Part of working ethically is knowing when someone else is better placed to help you. If I feel that therapy, medical support, psychiatric care, or another specialist would serve you better — or alongside our work — I will tell you. I maintain a network of trusted professionals for exactly this reason.

A referral is never a rejection. It's me advocating for you to get the best possible support.

You Are the Expert on Your Own Life

I believe deeply in your autonomy. My role is to walk alongside you — to ask the right questions, create space, and offer tools — not to tell you what to do, who to be, or what path to take.

You are not broken. You are not a project to be fixed. Every decision about your life belongs to you, and I will never use my position to steer you toward outcomes that serve my agenda rather than yours. Your journey is yours.

I Approach Our Work with Trauma Awareness

I recognize that many people who come to coaching and breathwork carry histories that have shaped them deeply — including trauma. I am committed to creating an environment that is safe, respectful, and never re-traumatizing.

This means I work at your pace, I check in regularly, I honor your boundaries, and I will never push you to go somewhere you're not ready to go. Breathwork in particular can be a profound somatic experience — I hold that with care and intention, always.

I am not a trauma therapist, and I will be transparent about that. But I am a practitioner who takes your safety seriously in every session.

What You Share Stays Between Us

Confidentiality is foundational to the trust we build together. What you share in our sessions — your story, your struggles, your breakthroughs — belongs to you. I will not share it without your explicit consent.

The only exceptions are where I am legally or ethically obligated: if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, I may need to act. I will always be transparent with you about this, and these situations are rare. In all other cases, your privacy is protected.

I also take care with how I handle your personal data, including contact details and session notes, in line with applicable privacy laws.

Honest, Transparent Agreements

You will always know what you're signing up for before you commit. I clearly outline what is included in each offer, how payment works, cancellation and refund policies, and what happens if either of us needs to end our work together.

I will never use high-pressure sales tactics, manufactured urgency, or false scarcity to influence your decisions. If something isn't the right fit, I will tell you — even if that means I'm not the right person for you right now. That matters more to me than the sale.

I Do Not Promise Specific Outcomes

Transformation is real. Growth is possible. And I will show up fully to support yours. But I will never guarantee specific results — because I don't believe any ethical coach or facilitator should.

What happens in our work together depends on many factors, including your readiness, your effort, and the complexity of what you're navigating. I promise to give you my best. I cannot promise what that will look like for you on the other side — and I'd rather be honest about that than sell you a story.

Everyone Is Welcome Here

I am committed to creating a space that is genuinely inclusive. I do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, socioeconomic background, body size, disability, or any other aspect of who you are.

I am actively engaged in learning — about bias, about cultural humility, about the ways power and identity shape our experiences. I don't claim to have it all figured out, but I am committed to doing the work, both inside the room and beyond it.

If I get something wrong, I want to know. My door is always open for honest feedback.

I Am Always Learning

I take my own development seriously. That means ongoing training in coaching, breathwork, and related modalities — as well as staying curious about ethics, trauma, the nervous system, and the evolving landscape of this field.

I also receive regular supervision or peer consultation, because I believe that good practitioners don't do this work in isolation. Holding space for others is meaningful, and I take care to ensure I'm held too.

My commitment to you is rooted in a commitment to my own continued growth as a practitioner.

A note from me

I wrote this because I want you to feel safe choosing to work with me — and because I think our field is more trustworthy when practitioners are willing to be accountable in public. These aren't ideals I aspire to. They're the standard I hold myself to, every day.

With care,

Loren Honey
